78 Magazine and Bernard's to Host Third Thursday

          Jasper, AL- - This past March, Blanton Media Group, publisher of 78 Magazine based out of Jasper, entered a new territory: event planning and management. The owner, Al Blanton, desired to bring community members, up-and-coming professionals, and local business owners together for an after business hours, networking and social event in a relaxed, come-and-go setting. The idea was set into motion, and resulted in Third Thursday.          The first Third Thursday was held at Elizabeth Garner Interiors and Boutique De La Reine in Jasper. Guests were able to shop the unique household items that EG offers and the beautiful clothing of the boutique, all while enjoying special treats provided by Michelle’s Bakery and Cafe. Guests mingled while greenery, donated by Leaf and Petal, brightened up the room.          Blanton stated: “The first Third Thursday at Elizabeth Garner was a nice event and we are looking to build off of it for this next event. The main goal of Third Thursday is to get people of the community to gather to support our local businesses.”         The second Third Thursday, which is held bi-monthly, will take place on May 19th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Bernard’s Store For Men, located in Historic Downtown Jasper, directly across from the courthouse. Bernard’s carries high quality clothing, including, Coastal Cotton, Southern Tide, Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia, State Traditions, and Mountain Khakis. Bernard’s also is also a carrier of name brand tuxedos, suits, and sports coats.         During the hours of this particular event, the staff at Bernard’s is offering 15% off any Made-to-Measure suit, sports coat, or slacks and 20% off any regular priced T-shirt in the store. These deals are during the hours of the Third Thursday event only! Treats will be provided by Victoria’s Restaurant and Bakery.
