Local Dish- Los Reyes Grill- Tacos Al Pastor

Images by Blakeney Cox0Y9A0165When Los Reyes Grill opened in November of 2012, there were already at least three Mexican restaurants in town. Brothers Carlos and Cesar Pedraza knew they had to stand out to be successful. With the restaurant located inside the century-old, newly renovated Burton Building in the heart of downtown Jasper, Los Reyes Grill soon became among the most popular eateries in town. Another reason for their popularity is the quality of menu items, like the Tacos Al Pastor. Co-owner Carlos Pedraza says it is prepared with strips of pork loin, marinated in adobo sauce, (made with dried peppers and spices) grilled with pineapple chunks, served on three corn tortillas, and then garnished with fresh cilantro and onions, with a side of homemade bean soup.“It’s one of our big sellers,” Carlos says. “It’s very colorful and very tasty. It’s got a little spice, and it’s sweet because of the pineapple. I just love the cilantro and onions with lime wedges.”If you’d like to stop at Los Reyes Grill and try the Tacos Al Pastor, (“al pastor”is Spanish for in the style of the shepherd) it’s the “P” item on the lunch menu, and Number 53 on the dinner menu.0Y9A01840Y9A0186
