Located at 310 Highway 78 West in Jasper, the building is lined with refurbished and repurposed furniture, hand-made jewelry, hand-hewed farmhouse tables and shelves, antique tools, colorful oil and watercolor paintings, custom metal work, and a plethora of other hand-made goods from local citizens. The Tin Cup, only two weeks removed from their opening day, July 1, is already chock-full of unique and interesting pieces. The Tin Cup owner Tim Key opened his business with one thing in mind: to create a showplace for local artists and crafters to display their goods. Key said, “Of course we want people to buy stuff, but we really just want to see people come through the door and look around.” Key and his family contribute their own items as well. Key is an expert in woodworking, jewelry making, metalworking and welding. The Tin Cup is arranged in a variety of booths built of wood pallets. Artists can rent a 7x7 booth for $100 a month, a 7x4 booth for $77 a month, or a 4x4 booth for $66 a month. Key has also purchased several glass display cases that vendors can rent for their delicate items. These range anywhere from $25-$100 a month. Key stated, “Booths are really shaping up. Every morning I come in and walk through the market. It amazes me at how fast we are filling up.” If an artist does not have enough pieces to fill a booth, Key expresses interest in buying their work himself, selling it in open floor space, or trading it. Key wants his market place to offer a variety of unique, refurbished pieces and hand-made goods. He is currently looking for potters, pencil artists, antique collectors, recycled and up cycled pieces, refurbished furniture, and anything else artistic or inventive. For more information on buying or selling at The Tin Cup, call Tim Key at (205) 544-8636 or visit him at 310 Highway 78 West Jasper, AL. Like The Tin Cup’s Face Book page @thetincup205 for vendor updates and photos. 78 Press Release prepared by Kelsey Stracner
