Hall Brothers Sporting Goods, owned by brothers Jack and Claude Hall, was a highly popular and successful business for many years. Located on 4thAvenue in Jasper, Hall Brothers was formed soon after World War II and sold numerous sporting goods items and hunting and fishing supplies. Some popular brands included Converse All-Star shoes, Russell athletic clothing, and Browning hunting and fishing supplies. The building suffered heavy structural damage on April 3, 1974 when a tornado struck downtown Jasper. The store was rebuilt, but in the late 1980s it was totally destroyed by fire."We enjoyed having the business,” says Richard Hall, son of Jack Hall. “Hopefully we were good to the customers.
