Bevill State to host summer basketball camps

Bevill State Community College Basketball will host a basketball camp on June 12th-14th and June 26-28 at Glen Clem Gymnasium on the Jasper Campus. 

The camp from June 12-14 is for rising 3rd-8thgrade students and will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 9-11 am on Friday. The camp from the 26thto the 28this for rising 6thgraders through rising 12thgraders. 

Campers will receive fundamental instruction and be able to participate in contests and games. 

“We try to teach kids fundamental skills which are very important, especially at a young age,” says Bevill State assistant coach Kelly Cheatham. “We will have three-point contests, hot shot, dribbling, three-on-three, and five-on-five contests.”

Campers will have an opportunity to interact with some of our Bevill State players, who will be running different stations at the camp. 

“It will be a lot of fun and a lot of learning,” Cheatham added. 

Cost is $60 per camper and all participants will receive a free T-shirt. 

Refreshments will be available for purchase at the concession stand. 

Registration is from 8-9 on Wednesday morning of the camp, or you can preregister at the Bevill State gymnasium any time before 6 p.m. on weekdays. 78
