JASPER, Ala. - Two new faces will occupy seats on the Walker County Commission this Wednesday. Steve Miller will be sworn in as Commission Chairman, while James “Jim” Borden will take over as District 3 Commissioner.

Miller, a local businessman and the owner of a roofing company, replaces Jerry Bishop, who had served as chairman since 2016. “On this great day I would like to thank the people of Walker County for your trust and support in becoming the Chairman of the Walker County Commission,” Miller said in a statement. “Your trust in me is humbling and I will be diligent in my daily duties to maintain your loyalty.”

Borden replaces Ralph Williams, who served as District 3 Commissioner since 2016.

Here is how the new commission will look:

Chairman: Steve Miller

District 1: Keith Davis

District 2: Jeff Burrough

District 3: Jim Borden

District 4: Steven Aderholt

The inauguration will occur at the Jasper Civic Center in downtown Jasper at 10 a.m., followed by a regular meeting of the Walker County Commission at 10:30.

“I look forward to working with the commissioners and employees of Walker County to continue to grow and move our county forward in each district,” Miller added. “My goal is to keep honesty, maintain integrity, and uphold transparency. Thank you again and may God Bless Walker County!”
