13 Questions with Lauren Gordon

1. What do you like most about living in Walker County?

The people. I’m surrounded by unique individuals who dream big and make intentional strides to see their vision become a reality. I’ve only lived here a short amount of time, but I am so inspired and encouraged by the way people in Walker County dream and live with hope for the future.

2.     What skill would you like to master?

Pottery. From afar, I’ve always appreciated the process behind pottery. I love collecting pottery from places I’ve traveled to, but I think it would be neat to create pieces of my own that I can decorate my home with, pass down one day and gift to others.

3.    What job would you be terrible at?

Pet Grooming. If you have questions why, you can just ask my friends Britton and Haley.

4.     What are you most likely to become famous for?

Being an Influencer on social media. Typical answer for a Gen Z gal, I know.

5.     If you could be cast for any movie role what would it be?

You would be surprised to know how many times I’ve been told since moving to Alabama that I could be a news reporter on a Hallmark movie. The people of Walker County have high hopes for me. Hallmark, let’s make the people proud.

6.    You are on a deserted island and you have to do without either music, Internet, or books. Which one do you choose?

I would “do away” with the music option only if it meant I could still listen to it on the internet. That’s doable, right? I’d have to keep books. I may be able to read them online, but nothing compares to a good ole paperback book.

7.    If you had to be another living person, who would you be?

Me, myself and I. BUT, if I absolutely had to choose my answer would be Joanna Gaines. I’d just love to have a glimpse into how her creative and business mind works. Plus, it seems like she lives life well and I like that about her.

8.     Mountains or beach?

Mountains all day every day.

9.     Pancakes or waffles?

Waffles; they just seem a little bit more fun than pancakes.

10.  What is one thing that can instantly make your day better?

A good cup of pour-over coffee.

11.  What is one song you will never forget the lyrics to?

Bohemian Rhapsody. No doubt. Shoutout to Summer McCool for always letting me play the electric air guitar.

12.  What fashion trend did you buy into that you wish you hadn’t?

I went through a phase of dressing preppy in high school and college. I don’t necessarily cringe when I look at pictures, but that style was never authentically “me”.

13.  If you could speak to your younger self. What do you say?

Trust the process of becoming. Your identity doesn’t come from the works of your hands, your list of accomplishments, your work ethics or even from your skills and talents. You are beloved and that’s that. You’ll discover who you are created and designed to be as you slow down and listen to the whisper of the Father. His words change everything and are the very thing that will shape you.
