78 Featured Athletes: Gracie Trotter and Adam O’Rear – Cordova High
In this first segment of 78 Magazine’s Featured Athletes, we would like to highlight two exceptional student athletes from Cordova High School, Gracie Trotter and Adam O’Rear.
Gracie Trotter
Gracie is the daughter of Thomas Trotter and Robin Trotter. She was an integral part of the softball team at Cordova, playing second base for the Blue Devils. While a student at Cordova, her favorite subject was math.
She plans to continue her education at Bevill State Community College and then the University of Alabama-Birmingham (UAB) to pursue her dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse.
Gracie was coached by Brandon Millican, Stephanie Woods, and Kara Merchant, as well as her father, Thomas Trotter. She will graduate on May 28.
Adam O’Rear
Adam is the son of Mike O’Rear and Melenie O’Rear. While at Cordova, Adam was a two-sport athlete, playing both baseball and football for the Blue Devils. He played centerfield for the baseball team and receiver and safety for the football team.
Adam was coached by Buster Howell, Blaine Eads, and Chris Lane (baseball), as well as Jake Howton and Justin Palmer (football).
The senior student-athlete says his favorite subject in school is history and plans to train to become a combat controller in the special forces of the United States Air Force after graduation. 78
