78 Featured Athletes: Jessy Aston and AJ Odom – Oakman High School

The town of Oakman was our destination for the week of June 21, and there we found two exceptional student-athletes in Jessy Aston and AJ Odom. Both Jessy and AJ excel in the classroom and on the playing fields, with Jessy holding a 4.0 GPA and AJ with a 3.9.

Here’s a little more about these two shining stars for the Wildcats:

AJ Odom

Expect to watch AJ Odom playing football on Saturdays in the near future, as this outside linebacker for the Wildcats has already committed to the University of Memphis football team and head coach Ryan Silverfield.

At Oakman, the rising senior plays football for coach Ryan Hall and basketball for coach Derek Roberts.

In addition to playing sports, he’s involved in school activities as well. He’s a member of the Beta Club and the Spanish Club and says his favorite subject is science.

While at Memphis, AJ plans to major in business.

Jessy Aston

You might be surprised to discover that Jessy Aston is a history lover. That’s because after graduation in May of 2022, she plans to go to college to become an ER nurse. Oh, but she plans on double majoring as well…in, you guessed it, history.

Jessy is a two-sport athlete at Oakman, playing on both the softball and volleyball teams. She plays pitcher and third base for the softball team and is the volleyball team’s outside hitter. She is coached by Paten Williams in softball and Paulette Burger in volleyball.

This rising senior also participates in school activities such as the Beta Club, Science Club, and FCCLA.

Her parents are Greg and Tammy Aston.

Please congratulate these outstanding student-athletes from Oakman High School! 78
