Bevill State Community College Division of Workforce Solutions, Workforce Development and Education Initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County, and Jasper Career Center have joined to host the 2021 Fall Career Fair on August 24, 2021, at the Jasper Civic Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event is free to both employers and job seekers. Employers from all industry clusters are welcome and will be given the option to conduct on-site interviews with interested job seekers.  

 “The Alabama Career Center System is proud to partner with the Chamber of Commerce and BSCC for this regional hiring event. Career Centers are an important part of the community, providing vital resources for employers and job seekers,” said Alicia Anderson, Jasper Career Center Manager.

 “The 2021 Fall Career Fair connects motivated job seekers with employers who are ready to hire. We frequently work with fellow agencies and this event provided the perfect opportunity to partner with the Chamber of Commerce of Walker County and Jasper Career Center to positively impact the workforce and regional economy,” said Al Moore, Dean of Workforce Solutions and Economic Development for Bevill State Community College.  

The 2021 Fall Career Fair was developed in direct response to the ongoing need to fill thousands of open positions in Walker County and the surrounding region. Events of the pandemic created a shifting of workforce needs and barriers to recruiting and hiring new employees. As we emerge from the most significant impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is critical that workforce stakeholders address the needs of both business and industry and job seekers. Events such as the 2021 Fall Career Fair work to quickly and effectively address these needs by bringing together employers and job seekers in a single location.  

Capstone Rural Health Center will be on-site offering COVID-19 vaccinations to individuals ages 12 and older.  There is no cost to receive a vaccination and no appointment is necessary. Those interested in receiving a vaccination will be asked to provide identification and an insurance card, if available. Whether an individual has insurance or not, there is no cost to the individual for the vaccination. Individuals requesting their second dose will be asked to present the vaccine card issued at their first vaccination.
