Cordova First Baptist Church Hosts Annual Lottie Moon Auction on Dec. 4
Cordova First Baptist Church is set to host the annual Lottie Moon Auction to raise money for local and international Baptist missions. The event will begin at 4:45 pm on Sunday, December 4 with finger foods, followed by a silent auction at 5:00 pm and a live auction at 6:00 pm. Prizes will be offered in a wide variety, and provided by the church and businesses in the area.
The Lottie Moon Auction is held in honor of Charlotte Digges “Lottie” Moon, who spent a large part of her life serving for Baptist missions in China. Event coordinator Randy Barnes chooses to focus on giving to Baptist missions in a creative way.
“I think the mission-field is a very important aspect of any church, and how it relates to the community, the state, the nation, and even internationally. This auction is just a fun way for the community to be involved in that,” says Randy.
The auction is a way to provide a family-oriented event to celebrate Christmas, and to give back to those in the mission field. This is an event that the community has enjoyed for years and will continue to look forward to.
