Achieving a life-work balance can often seem like a juggling act, but Kristi Alexander seems to manage just fine.

Kristi is the office manager for H.L. Wiginton Capital Management, an investment firm in Jasper. At the firm, Kristi manages many tasks that require a variety of skill sets. The focus of her life, however, is putting her heart and soul into managing her own family.

Kristi and her husband, Brian, met after she came back from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2007. At that point, she was looking for a house and Brian was her real estate agent. A year later, Kristi decided to try her hand at real estate.

“I love houses and decorating,” says Kristi.

Kristi soon approached Carol Alexander at White Pepper Real Estate and was brought onto the company’s real estate team. Kristi had been familiar with the Alexander family through church connections.

“My grandfather went to church with (Brian’s) parents, so they knew each other,” Kristi says.

Kristi and Brian eventually started dating and were married on July 3, 2010. The couple now have two boys: Reed, 10, and Brodie, 8, and Brian is an owner at White Pepper Real Estate.

After Reed was born, Kristi was a part-time stay-at-home mom and worked part-time.

“It was something that was flexible for me while I was staying home with Reed,” she said.

After Brodie was born, she wanted to get back into the workforce full-time. That’s when she connected with her current boss, Mike Wiginton, at H.L. Wiginton.

I enjoy my job because I am a people person and what I do involves interaction with others. It has taught me a lot about finances and money management that I have been able to use to also help my family,” Kristi said.

In the little spare time Kristi has, she loves to watch her boys play sports all year around as well as support her husband coaching them.

“This is just the stage of life we are currently in, and we love it,” Kristi said.

Managing duties at work and at home certainly has its challenges, but for Kristi, it provides space to pour her heart and soul into. 78
