Q & A

78: What are some name brands your store carries that we ought to be familiar with and can you describe them briefly?

RW: We carry many different brands; some are household names like La-Z-Boy and Bassett. However, some of my personal favorites aren't as commonly known, such as Rowe, Bernhardt, and Hooker. Rowe, a 70-year-old company based in Virginia, produces some of the best upholstery in the market. They always have very fresh styles and fabrics, and the quality is second to none. Bernhardt, a family-owned company since 1889, and Hooker, founded in 1925, produce some of the best bedroom and dining room furniture available. The quality is great, and they have many different styles, from traditional to contemporary.

78: What are some factors that go into selecting a piece of furniture?

RW: There are many different factors in selecting a piece of furniture, but some of the top questions you need to ask yourself are, "Do I love it?", "Is it good quality?,” "Does it fit my lifestyle?,” "Is the brand/retailer reputable?,” and "Will it fit?" Most people do not purchase furniture very often so make sure you pick pieces that make you happy, especially these days as everyone is spending more time at home.

78: What are the aspects of your business that make it unique or great?

RW: Our business is unique in that we carry a variety of styles and price ranges. We carry everyday comfort items like La-Z-Boy recliners to fashion-forward sofas from Rowe. Many furniture stores focus on either one style or one price point, but we carry a variety of both.

Another aspect of our business that I feel is unique is we try to only sell items that we believe to be good quality and value. Many furniture retailers sell the lowest-priced furniture they can find, but we’ve pledged to offer our customers better value and quality.
