78 Featured Athletes – Haleigh Lamon and Ashton Vaughn – Carbon Hill High School

Say hello to our newest 78 Featured Athletes – Haleigh Lamon and Ashton Vaughn of Carbon Hill High School in the great town of Carbon Hill, Alabama! 

Let’s learn a little more about these outstanding scholar athletes: 

Haleigh Lamon 

Senior Haleigh Lamon plays two sports at CHHS: volleyball and softball. A defensive specialist, Haleigh is coached in volleyball by Ross Watters. She also plays pitcher for head softball coach Wade Tittle. 

Set to graduate in May, Haley says her favorite subject is English. She has a 3.7 GPA and participates in the following school activities: FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, FCA, Key Club, Beta Club, and the National Honor Society. 

Haleigh plans to attend Bevill State Community College for General Studies after graduation, then she plans to transfer to The University of Alabama for secondary education and to coach softball. 

Haleigh is the daughter of Sandra and David Lamon. 

Ashton Vaughn 

“After graduation, I plan to use the skills I have learned at the Walker County Center for Technology (WCCT) to pursue a job as a welder,” says Ashton Vaughn, senior at Carbon Hill High School. 

Today, Ashton is getting ready to graduate next month and enjoying his final few weeks of high school. Ashton plays baseball and football at CHHS and is coached by Coach Eads in baseball and Coach Cochran in football.

Ashton says his favorite subjects in school are English and history. He is the son of Dustie Hicks and Rodney Vaughn.
