Senate President Pro Tem Greg Reed Endorses Kay Ivey for Governor

The reelection campaign for Governor Kay Ivey today announced that Senator Greg Reed (R-Jasper), President Pro Tempore of the Alabama Senate, has endorsed Kay Ivey in her reelection bid for Governor.

“Kay Ivey is a strong Governor and a great leader of our state – we’re lucky to have her. She is a defender of conservative, Alabama values and has helped our state create a robust economy that is resilient and growing. The Alabama Senate and the Governor have a great working relationship – delivering a wide range of legislative accomplishments that are important to Alabamians,” Reed said. “It’s clear that she is the best person for the job, and I look forward to supporting her in her reelection campaign. We’ve accomplished a lot, but there’s still work that needs to be done to help our state meet its full potential. With Governor Ivey at the helm, Alabama’s best days are still ahead of us.”

Governor Ivey thanked Senator Reed for his endorsement and commended him for the Senate’s great success under his leadership.

“I thank Senator Reed for his endorsement today. Senator Reed has been a true leader in the Senate, and the state of Alabama benefits greatly because of the work he and his Senate colleagues are able to accomplish,” Ivey said. “Alabama is the greatest state in the country. We’ve accomplished so much together to move our state forward, and the best is yet to come. We’ve created over 50,000 new jobs, over $25 billion in new business investment and we have the lowest unemployment rate in state history. We passed the strongest pro-life bill in the nation, we’ve strengthened our election security, we’ve cut taxes by over $160 million, we’ve banned transgender sports, and we will continue to be the most aggressive defender of the 2nd amendment in the nation.

“I am very proud of what our state has been able to achieve over the past couple of years – and we’re just getting started. I will always defend Alabama values and fight for what’s right.”
