Twenty-three-year-old hair stylist Lauren Fischer recently achieved a significant milestone in her career by opening her own business, Salon 107, in downtown Jasper.

Her passion for her work began in high school when she helped others style their hair for events, and the feeling of making others feel beautiful stuck with her.

After she briefly considered becoming an art teacher, Lauren ultimately decided to pursue hairstyling, finding it a better fit for her personality and interests.

"It's still art," she says, "but the canvas is someone's hair!"

Lauren began working at Jasper's Studio 64 Salon in 2018 with a five-year plan to own her own business.  Exactly five years later, she is doing just that. Lauren is excited to be able to create her own space where she can provide a unique experience for her clients.

"Whether they have an appointment or just want to come in to chat, I want my clients to feel at home," she says. "It's so rewarding to play a part in helping others feel good about themselves, and I want everyone who comes through the doors of my salon to leave feeling beautiful," she says.

Lauren's dedication to her craft is admirable, and it is no wonder she is making strides in her career. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that pursuing what you love can lead to great success, regardless of age. 78
