Amanda Darty still remembers sitting in the chair as a little girl, hearing her dentist tell her how healthy her teeth looked. “I always had positive experiences at the dentist,” she says. Paired with a love of science, creativity inherited from her mom, and an entrepreneurial spirit passed down from her dad, her path to dentistry began to unfold.

“I was raised with the mindset that if you’re disciplined and willing to work, there’s no limit,” Amanda says. “Dentistry ended up being the perfect mix. I get to study science, work with my hands, run a business, and build relationships.”

Nearly 20 years after graduating from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry, Amanda’s practice in Jasper has become known for care rooted in skill and connection. She designed her office to reflect her belief that healthcare should feel welcoming. “I want to be a bright spot in our community,” she says. “We serve people the way we would want to be served.”

But supporting her community isn’t just about patients. From her builder to her bank to her dental lab, Amanda keeps her business tied to local partnerships. She says that small businesses help keep our community alive and she wants to support people who support her.

She has also leaned into the future of her field. Though trained in what she calls an “analog world,” Amanda has spent years mastering digital dentistry — everything from Invisalign orthodontic aligners to 3D printing night guards and dentures in-house. “It’s like putting a puzzle together,” she says, describing the blend of precision and artistry that keeps her excited to learn.

But for all the technology, it’s the human side that matters most. Patients and staff have become family, and the relationships built over decades are what she treasures most. “I’ve been doing this long enough now to see generations of families come through our doors,” she says. “That’s the part I love.”
