78 Featured Athletes – Jaia Page and Garrett Hogland – Dora High School

Dora High School has a robust athletic heritage, and the Bulldog Spirit is strong. This is evident in our two Featured Athletes of the Week, Jaia Page and Garrett Hogland.

Let’s meet these two outstanding individuals:

Jaia Page

Dora freshman Jaia Page is a multi-sport athlete for the Bulldogs who is thriving on and off the field. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA and loves the sciences.

Jaia plays second base and outfield for the softball team and is coached by George Banks. She is a passer for the volleyball team, which is under the leadership of coach Kimber Sunform and Teresa Bradford. She is a guard for the basketball team and is coached by Justin Blevins.

Jaia also runs in 100m, 200m and 4x100 relay for the Dora track team. Her track coaches are coach Bart Black and Hannah Nesmith.

Her other activities include school, church, and athletics. She is a member of the Dora High School Beta Club, attends Sumiton Church of God, and plays on the AAU basketball on Team Underrated.

“In the future, I plan to attend LSU and major in nursing. I would like to become a travel nurse,” says Jaia. “I would like to thank my mom for encouraging me at all times. Love you!”

She is the daughter of Latonia Nash and Jonathan Page.

Garrett Hogland

Garrett plays the “big three” of American sports: baseball, football, and basketball. It’ll be a couple of years before he graduates as a member of the class of 2024, and his plan after graduation is to go to college and become a physical therapist. He’s on the right track to achieving his future goals as a sophomore, sporting a 4.0 GPA in the classroom at DHS>

Garrett is the shortstop for the Bulldogs baseball team and is coached by Jase Trotter. He is the quarterback for the football team under the leadership of coach Chavis Williams. Garrett is the Bulldogs’ shooting guard for the basketball team under the guidance of Coach Michael Bridges. He’s also a part of the Beta club.

Garrett is the son of Derrik and Stephanie Hogland.

Please congratulate these two scholar-athletes for being recognized as our 78 Featured Athletes! 78
