JASPER, AL – Bevill State Community College has been awarded a Community Service Grant from Alabama Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Reed. Funds from this grant will be utilized for a beautification project planned for the College’s Jasper Campus. Details concerning this upcoming project will be released at a later date.

"Bevill State Community College is so appreciative of the continued support from Senator Greg Reed. The College’s service area spans Senator Reed’s district. He has repeatedly assisted in obtaining funding for projects across our campuses. This Community Service Grant from Senator Reed will allow us to begin an improvement project on our Jasper Campus. Projects such as this are vital to the success of Bevill State. We have seen a steady increase in campus enrollment as we have worked to make improvements to this particular campus," stated Dr. Joel Hagood, President of Bevill State Community College.

“Bevill State Community College continues to play a vital role within Walker County and West Alabama, not only for the higher education of students but also as an employer for the hundreds of hard-working faculty and staff members.  Bevill State Community College is consistently evolving to meet the needs of the continuous increase in enrollment,” said Senator Greg Reed.  “So, this Community Service Grant for the beautification project will allow for many necessary upgrades to the grounds and facilities as well as the potential for capital improvements. The leadership brought forth by Dr. Joel Hagood is one that our community can be proud of and I for one cannot wait for these projects to be announced.”
