78 Featured Athletes- Mikalyn Reese and Darrien “Dee” Wilkerson- Dora High School

Dora High School has a reputation for excelling in both sports and academics. This week, we honor two young student athletes who continue that Bulldogs tradition—Mikalyn Reese and Darrien “Dee” Wilkerson. Let’s meet them.

 Mikalyn Reese

Mikalyn Reese is in her junior year at Dora High. She plays guard and post under basketball coach Justin Blevins, and third base under basketball coach George Banks. Mikalyn maintains a 4.0 GPA and her favorite subject is math. She is active in Beta Club, Talent Search, SGA, and the Peer Helper program. She plans to pursue a nursing career after graduation in 2023 and hopes to play college softball at the University of South Alabama. Mikalyn is the daughter of Adriene Skipwith and Michael Reese.

 Darrien “Dee” Wilkerson

Dora senior Darrien “Dee” Wilkerson plays football under coaches Chavis Williams and Bart Lockhart and is considered an “ATH,” or athlete, meaning he has a variety of skills and can play almost any position. During basketball season, he plays guard under head coach Michael “Bay- Bay” Bridges. He also runs the 200-meter and 300-meter hurdles in track under coach Hannah Nesmith. Darrien’s favorite subject is government, and he plans to earn his master’s in criminal justice and become a lawyer after graduation this year. He has a 3.8 GPA, is in Beta Club, and is a Dora High Ambassador. Darrien’s proud parents are Darrick and Prentella Wilkerson.

Congratulations to these two outstanding Dora High School student athletes!
