Q&A

78: Most people don’t think to have their heating and air units serviced regularly. How important is this to the overall life cycle of the unit?

TCAS: A yearly maintenance is important in keeping an HVAC unit working efficiently. A yearly maintenance consists of a tech coming out and checking the air conditioners filters, taking temperature readings, cleaning the coils, and checking all other components. Choosing to neglect your unit of a yearly maintenance ensures a steady decline in air conditioning units’ performance while the energy usage steadily increases.

78: How do you determine what size unit you should buy and what brand name options are available?

TCAS: When looking to install a new HVAC system, it is important to make sure it is sized correctly. When giving an estimate, we first determine the square footage and the insulation value of the house. The reason for this is, if you were to get an HVAC unit too small, it might not be able to regulate the temperature of your home— the same with an oversized unit. An oversized unit will not work as efficiently and may wear out faster, and could possibly cause problems with dehumidification. American Standard is Tri County Air Systems’ number-one-selling HVAC system, with other brand options available.

78: What are the aspects of your business that make it unique or great?

TCAS: Tri County Air Systems offers 24-hour service, 7 days a week, including holidays. Here at Tri-County, we stand behind our work and do things right the first time. We treat our customers how we want to be treated. Tri County Air Systems is a licensed and insured company. That is vital when hiring a company to work on your home.
