“One finds a way of living for the sake of someone else’s future.”

So many thoughts go through my mind when I think of why I love real estate. The number one reason, as cliche as it sounds, is because I love helping people build a future, and what better way than through home ownership?

Truly the American Dream is owning a home and through the opportunity provided at Joseph Carter Realty, I have helped so many first-time homebuyers secure their own home. Guiding them through the entire process until the day they get their keys is both rewarding and fun. When you see a single mom who has worked hard to provide or a young couple starting their journey be able to walk through the doors of their own home— that is what motivates me!

This profession is very different but also very much the same as being an educator. I thought I would have to become comfortable with a sales-based environment, but it’s truly just about connecting people to resources and helping them achieve their goals.

I have always been someone who watched the housing market and even connected friends to help them sell houses to other friends, so it was a natural fit! The merging of these careers has been seamless, and I have even had the opportunity to help former students and their families buy homes. Now that is a full circle opportunity! I never thought I could love anything as much as teaching, but I have fallen in love with this career!

Also, because every transaction is different, I learn something new each time. Learning and growing as a person is important to me. With the ever-changing market, it is also important to stay connected to other realtors, closing attorneys, and inspectors and lenders, so I have also had the pleasure of meeting many new people. For an extrovert like myself who enjoys being able to interact and learn with others, this is an added bonus. The crew at JCR have also become some of my dearest friends. 78
