Audrey McGill lives her life on a mission.

After graduating from Walker High School in 2017, Audrey enrolled at Bevill State Community College with plans to pursue a degree in the musical field. After working as a music co-pastor, she realized it was not for her.

She then took a leap of faith and joined a Youth With A Mission (YWAM) missionary school in the state of Wisconsin. Her plan was to complete a course and go to Latvia on an international mission trip, but those plans were derailed by COVID-19.

She eventually moved back home and found her place volunteering at a women's rehab in Dora called City of Lights. In April 2021, she joined the City of Lights staff as a receptionist. New responsibilities began to accumulate as she learned how things worked. Soon, she was ready to step into a leadership role.

"God kept leading me…to be able to step into the office manager position," Audrey said.

Now she handles the nonprofit’s financials and marketing and hosts a monthly art therapy class for clients. These are just a few ways Audrey pours into those around her with the love of Christ.

International missions are still important to her, but for now, this is where she’ll keep planting.

"It turned out that my mission was here in Walker County," she said. 78
