Annual Eldridge Toy Run Set for December 4

“Every first Saturday in December, all roads lead to Eldridge!”

The 19th annual Eldridge Toy Run will be held on December 4, 2021 at the Freewill Baptist Children’s Home in Eldridge, AL. This event is sponsored and arranged by the Eldridge Benefit Team—a group of biking enthusiasts—to raise funds for the children’s home and provide residents with Christmas gifts. Around 800 to 1,000 bikers from staging places in Alabama and Mississippi are expected to attend this year’s event.

Freewill Baptist Children’s Home Executive Director Mandy Mitchell says that the event has “grown to be much more” than the initial year in 2003 when $7,000 was raised. Last year, the home collected over $138,000.

Donations for this year’s toy run can be made at the event or on the event’s website.

The program, which will start at noon, will provide the home an opportunity to thank sponsors and for residents to receive their gifts. Lunch will be served, and there will be a free automobile show for antique cars, trikes, and monster trucks.

Mitchell says that although bikers make up most of the attendees, anyone is welcome to join in on the fun for this special holiday event. 78
