Athletic Arts Center Secures the Stage with Return of The Nutcracker

The Nutcracker cast is eager and equipped to reintroduce Jasper to a Christmas favorite.

Athletic Arts Center is returning to center stage for two performances of The Nutcracker. The two-act holiday ballet is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 18 at Jasper High School’s auditorium.

The Nutcracker cast is reclaiming the spotlight for the first live holiday performance since 2019. With the halting of live shows in 2020, last year's performance was filmed and produced for viewers to watch at home. This December, Athletic Arts Center invites you to sit back and enjoy the show, and encourages guests to pre-order tickets to the showtime of their choice.

Tickets will be available for online purchase at athleticartsctr.com and eventbrite.com, or event goers can purchase at the door. Tickets are $18 for adult admission and $15 for student admission.

Maria Ross Campsey, owner and operator, eagerly awaits the grand return to the stage, stating, “I am thrilled to bring The Nutcracker back to the stage this year. Live performances were not an option last year, but we kept The Nutcracker tradition alive in our community by creating a film and offering virtual viewing options. Making a film was an exciting challenge, but the cast is eager to perform this magical holiday production for a live audience once again.”

Athletic Arts Center is dedicated to offering quality dance, performing arts, and fitness opportunities for children and adults; providing outlets for artistic expression; and creating community collaborations and cultivating an appreciation of the performing arts. Classes include dance, voice, musical theatre, acting, gymnastics, social dance, and yoga classes for children and adults.

This year's holiday performance is the 13th production of The Nutcracker by the Athletic Arts Center.
